The redfish (Sebastes marinus) is a ray-finned fish found in the northwest and northeastern Atlantic Ocean.
The adult redfish is on average 45 cm, but can reach a length of 100 cm. The dorsal fin has 15 spines and the anal fin has three spines.
The redfish is a saltwater fish that occurs in a temperate climate. The depth at which the species occurs is 100 to 1000 m below the water surface. The diet of the fish consists mainly of small fish. They can live up to 60 years old.
